After years of isolation in various rehearsal rooms around Biel — and countless band names and line-ups — the project now goes by a name that sounds almost like a French bike lock: KADNA. They have been spreading their raw energy and noise-soaked charm across every room they play. Expect fuzzy riffs squeezed through a wall of sound, sharp basslines, and pounding drums that carry voices screaming in French and English about all that moves and matters to them. Diesen Frühling ist «Blauer Planet» von Karl Kave & Julia Toggenburger beim Verlag der gesunde Menschenversand erschienen: Urtümlicher Synthpop für Freund:innen von Grenzwelten. Solo spielt Julia Toggenburger nebst Stücken des Albums einige unveröffentlichte Perlen ab dem nächsten, im Spätherbst kommenden Release mit Karl Kave und liest Gedichte. Begleitet wird sie dabei von SAICH, ihrer langjährigen DJ-Partnerin (Vakui)

Pië-nü (ZH) bringt Bass, Gefühl und Spielfreude mit und bewegt sich irgendwo zwischen Indie Dance, Dark Disco und Electronica.

A haunted exorcism through sound and movement — visceral, aggressive, unclassifiable. The shriek of a mythological creature ripping open the psyche to divine what lies beneath.

Nïgma navigates the fault lines between metal, punk, noise, and kitsch — where collapse becomes comfort and distortion feels like home. Originally from Wales, the improvising lyricist, producer and sound artist, now lives as a musical nomad between Vienna, Kampala, Berlin, Cairo, Dakkar, Marseille and Newcastle. Auch musikalisch ist Elvin Brandhi nicht einfach zu verorten. Ob deliriös deep oder nonsens style, ihre spoken words surfen auf explosiven, abstrakten Beats und Noises. Her sound develops on distorted bases that act as an unstable platform on which she sings and performs her stream of consciousness lyrical trips. Depuis 2013, elle collabore avec son père, Nadah El Shazly, Lord Spikehard (Duma), MC Sensational (Jungle Brothers), Tony Allen, Pat Thomas, l’Ugandan collectif Nyege Nyege,… Elle a sorti sur des labels comme C.A.N.V.A.S, Hakuna Kulala, Krai or Xing/Xong collection.

Ana Bălan ist die frostig klingende Goth-Prinzessin aus Bukarest, ein verstecktes Juwel, von dem ihr nie wusstet, dass ihr euch danach sehntet. Für all jene, die eine Vorliebe für frisch entsafteten alternative Pop haben, ist sie genau die richtige Adresse. Inspiriert von der Musiksammlung ihrer Eltern aus den 1980er Jahren und ihrer Leidenschaft für experimentelle Musik, verwebt sie in ihren Werken verspielte Pop-Elemente mit gespenstisch verzerrten Klängen. Das Ergebnis ist eine Soundlandschaft für Liebe, Verlust und Melancholie. Ana ist Musikerin und bildende Künstlerin und lebt zwischen Basel und Bukarest. Ihre neuesten dunkel-seufzenden Sehnsuchtsklänge bringt sie nun nach Zürich, wo sie nächsten Montag zum ersten Mal in der Boschbar zu hören sein werden!
