Dom Sensitive isn’t just a name change; it’s an utterly captivating, hyper-stylised and at times completely bizarre revolution from a prolific artist whose impressive back-catalogue spans over a decade. Created at Milestone Records on Peramangk Country with longtime friend and collaborator Tom Spall (The High Beamers, Body Horror), the latest full-length concept album Pop Contest is a perplexingly brilliant collection assembled piece by piece on the cutting-room floor. Bombastic, fractured and boldly original, it plays like the soundtrack to a golden-age comic book, torn apart and obsessively taped back together in the name of research and development.

Zum Einstieg in den Abend gibt es Mukke ab Kassette von Florida – man darf gespannt sein… Mit Tarn, einem Duo aus Züri, schweben wir danach hoch hinauf in klangliche Sphären puren Glücks, um anschliessend von DJ Mulachaya mit Baile!, Afrobeat! und viel Bass! wieder auf den Tanzboden der Realität geholt zu werden.

Wem das alles irgendwie zu viel ist, der kann auf der schönsten Terrasse zwischen dem oberen und unteren Letten die Seele baumeln lassen und die unvergitterte Sicht auf das Mittelmeer auf die Limmat geniessen.

„Wohnung der Love“ lautet der Titel der neuen EP der Schweizer Underground-Indie-Künstler tober & Rémy Sax. Die beiden langjährigen Partner haben diese Tracks für ihre vielschichtige, experimentelle Hybrid-Show erarbeitet, die sich zwischen den Genres Dark Jazz, Lo-Fi-Gitarren und Dungeon-Breakcore bewegt.

3 Jahrzehnte schon organisiert unser Kollektiv jeden Montag super Konzerte und exzellente DJs aus allen Genres und lädt zur Boschbar. An der Geroldstrasse vertrieben und für illegal erklärt, sind wir unseren Prinzipien von strikt unkommerzieller «DIY Kultur vo Züri für Züri» treu geblieben (niemand verdient etwas, aller Gewinn geht an die Künstler:innen) und haben unsere Residenz schliesslich im Provi aufgeschlagen. Kommt vorbei, tanzt, redet, verliebt euch miteinander und stosst zum Beispiel mit einem leckeren Cocktail von Max Zinker an auf weitere 30 Jahre Boschbar Montagsoase in der Kommerzwüste Zureich!

Electronic libre / LBN

Swiss-Lebanese multi-instrumentalist and singer based in Beirut, NÂR works in constant metamorphosis with voice, instruments and found objects. Her live sets are abrasive, hypnotic experiments built from scratch, often guided by short phrases repeated like mantras. Drawing from Middle Eastern and North African trance, industrial, grime and experimental club music, she now explores a more stripped-down setup made of clocks, carillons and metallic objects, revealing a rawer and more radical direction.

AKRAM HAJJ
Daf noise / LBN

Percussionist and drummer Akram Hajj is a key figure of the adventurous Lebanese post-rock scene, notably through his band Kinematik. For this solo set, he transforms the daf, an Iranian frame drum, into an ambient noise instrument using piezo microphones, effects pedals and no-input mixing. Feedback, melodic layers and electric polyrhythms collide into a rich, intense and fascinating sound world. Maybe a new genre: Daf Noise.

ERROR_MGT
Selecta out of space / CH

error_mgt is a Zurich-based DJ who operates within the flux of the sonic underground. His sets explore obscure currents of electronic music and engage with collectively shifted in-between spaces.

There will be merch and a donation box. All proceeds go to grassroots collectives active on the ground in Lebanon, supporting emergency relief and much more, including @tanseqeye_shaabeye_lebanon, @agrimovementlb and @havenforartists.

LES VODA perform a balancing act between psychedelic rock, garage and blues. Swimming from song to song without being held back by musical style boundaries. Inner City Blues walks out to the woods, gets dirty, drowns in the cold river and sets fire to your log cabin.

DJ Tischlampenfieber will spin records before and after the concert.

SOGA (Mexican Punk/Hardcore)

¡Necesito salir! – Angy, Sara and Violeta are SOGA, and they are coming to Boschbar straight from Mexico City! Currently on their first-ever European tour, they play ferocious, angry punk anthems with a dash of hardcore. Their label, Iron Lung Records, puts it better than we ever could:

SOGA are an integral part of Mexico City’s music scene, providing the connective tissue between the sounds of first-generation punk, friendship, feminism, and the urgency of hardcore. […] “Corrosión” is a ferocious hardcore inferno of a proper debut album. Twelve songs bursting with rage pointed at what they’ve witnessed firsthand that is wrong in their home country: disappearances, mass graves, femicides, male oppression, societal expectations towards women, gentrification, right-wing bigotry, and international corporate violence towards the land and resources.

Bahnhofbuffet Chancental

(autotune grunge from St.Gallen, Switzerland)

Knutschen im Moshpit. Macht man ab einem gewissen Alter nicht mehr. Das letzte Mal Verknalltsein ist schon Jahre her und wer will sich schon einen Knöchel verstauchen. Doch genau dort, wo Schlüsselbeine zum Brechen hingehen, die Endorphine den Schmerz aber erträglich machen, fühlen sich Bahnhofbuffet Chancental zu Hause. Musikalisch will der Kopf durch die Wand, in den Texten steckt aber unübersehbar auch verletzliche Romantik. Post-Punk also. Könnte sein. Vielleicht etwas ruppiger und mit körniger 90s-Ästhetik. Neu ist bei Bahnhofbuffet Chancental ausserdem das exzessive Autotune. Und dann noch auf Schweizerdeutsch, weil wieso auch nicht. Gab es noch nicht. Sie nennen es dreiviertelernstgemeint «Mundart-Autotune-Grunge».

Den Anschluss zu Millenials, die sich mit ihren Schnauzern und Trainingsjacken unter fünf Schichten Ironie verstecken, haben Bahnhofbuffet Chancental nie gefunden. Dazu klebt zu viel Provinz an den Converse. Die Songs sind geschrieben von und für Landkinder, die angestrengt glauben, in Zürich eine Identität zu finden, sich dann dort aber genauso fremd fühlen. Am Ende wirst du überall enttäuscht. Übrig bleibt verbitterte Ehrlichkeit und das schulterzuckende Akzeptieren der mittelmässigen Herkunft. Hier also das Rheintal – die Region, die sich in einem unbeholfenen Versuch des Standortmarketings als «Chancental» bezeichnete. Ist lange her.
